The Comeback Season by Jennifer E. Smith is the most amazing book ever written. It is my now standing favorite with its combination of baseball, love, passion, friendship, and a snap of reality to tell us not all stories end happily, but with a sense of accomplishment and that there's bright side to everything. Also it gives a sense that memory is very important.
It's a must read for baseball fans, no matter what team, you can appreciate what the main character, Ryan Walsh, and her boyfriend Nick with something that he has that could tear them apart. All in all, it's a romance with a hint of humor and a snap of reality. Just a note, they are Chicago Cubs fans with big hearts.
Bottom Line: Read it! Understand that not everything ends happily. Best book ever. It's Jennifer E. Smith's first book and it is the best ever. Love, romance, passion, baseball, and reality all packed into one packed, easy flowing book.
